What would a travel blog be without a commentary of the trip from Woodstock CT to Rutland VT? We all piled in to our subcompact Nissan hatchback for the ride. Our first stop was the Welcome Center in Guilford, VT. One of the first impressions of Vermont, after the scenic beauty of the trees and mountains, is how clean and presentable everything is, very different from the city. We took the highway to Rockingham and the Vermont Country Store.
The next impression of Vermont came more gradually after leaving the highway, taking the back roads through the country...a much slower pace...no one riding on my bumper trying to pass, less stress, a nice change of pace.
